Company description The school has a special programme for students on Wednesday afternoons which enables students to participate in many of the following activities: Netball, hockey, football, tennis, trampolining, table tennis, cricket, athletics, drama, choirs, quartets, bands, ensembles, orchestras, learning an instrument, charity projects, eco-schools project, Maths club, Art club, language clubs, English club, lace club, ICT club, DofE Award and Mock Court Trial competitions. Additionally there are many trips and visits such as: competing in sporting and musical events at county and national level; conferences in Languages, Drama, RE, Chemistry, Business Studies, History, Mathematics, Geography, Politics and Careers; trips to New York for Art and Dance, Ypres and Poland for History, Language Exchanges, Geography and Biology field trips, ski trips, museum visits and regular theatre visits. There is a full range of Science course available at KS4 and KS5 with highly qualified subject specialist teachers in all departments. All students study French, German and Spanish in Year 7; they then choose two of these to continue to GCSE. A small percentage are allowed to opt out of languages in KS4.
